    COVID TRAVEL TIPS
    Get packing for your post-lockdown holiday with this handy Travel Guide!

    In the "good old days” you just needed a passport and you were good to go on your holiday... now the most important travel document around is a Negative-PCR test! Please get familiar with the entry requirements of your destination and keep checking and re-checking on the requirements as things can change pretty regularly.

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
    TravelDoc is a free site that quickly and efficiently verifies passengers’ international travel documentation and health requirements, including those related to Covid-19, based on the travellers’ routing and destination www.traveldoc.aero. An alternative resource is https://www.traveldoc.aero/ 

    PRE-DEPARTURE PCR TESTS
    In many cases you will require a negative PCR test ahead of your trip. Please check this link for information:
    www.ampath.co.za/travellers-resources. A test certificate should contain the name of the passenger (as per passport), name and address of the testing laboratory, type of test stated as PCR test, date of sampling and the result of the test. SMS and electronic test notifications are not accepted.

    SEYCHELLES (Updated 12 September 2021)
    The Seychelles is open to South African Travellers from 13 September 2021 subject to the following:
    Passengers must hold a negative PCR test certificate from an accredited laboratory obtained within 
    72 hours prior to departure.
    In addition travellers must obtain a Travel Authorisation via https://seychelles.govtas.com/ within 
    3 to 72 hours prior to departure and save a copy of their approval. 
    Airlines may verify passengers' authorisations at Travel Authorisation Status Check. 
    Parents or an accompanying adult must complete the application on behalf of passengers 
    aged younger than 18 years. In case of an emergency or unplanned travel, passengers may use an 
    express application at an additional cost of 90 Euros per passenger.
    You also need to ensure that you hold travel insurance that will cover Covid-19 related isolation, quarantine, and clinical care for the duration of their stay.

    MALDIVES
    All guests travelling to and from Maldives are required to submit a self-health declaration within 24 hours prior to their departure to and again from Maldives. Passengers travelling to the Maldives must hold a negative Covid-19 PCR test certificate obtained within 96 hours prior to departure.  Please access this website: imuga.immigration.gov.mv for all the information on travelling to the Maldives.

    PCR tests for return to South Africa are available on each island resort and start from $150 per person**

    ZANZIBAR (Updated 05 May 2021)

    All passengers will be required to complete Zanzibar’s online Traveller Surveillance Form available at https://afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz/ within 24 hours before arrival in Zanzibar. A negative PCR test certificate, using a sample collected within 72 hours of arrival, must be presented on arrival. All travellers will be subjected to enhanced screening on arrival and may be subjected to an additional rapid test. The cost for this test is $25 per traveller.

    An additional PCR test will be required 72 hours before returning home.  Clients need to book online for the appointment via this website: https://zanzibarcovidtesting.co.tz/app/home  and results will be received via email. Costs start from $80 per person excluding transport.** Our ground handlers will be glad to assist with the transfers to the clinic and these can be booked and paid on arrival.

    MAURITIUS (Updated 12 September 2021)

    As of 01 October 2021, fully vaccinated travellers will be allowed entry into Mauritius subject to a negative PCR Test obtained 72 hours prior to departure from South Africa. In addition incoming passengers to Mauritius must download and complete:

    Public health passenger locator form and

    Public health Covid-19 passenger health self-declaration form

    These forms must be handed to the Ministry of Health and Wellness counters at the airport upon 

    their arrival in Mauritius. The forms are also available for download from:  https://mauritiusnow.com/

    PCR tests for returning South Africans will be available – pricing is expected to be in the 

    region of MRU2,500 per test.

    THAILAND

    Thailand is currently closed for holiday visits and has a mandated quarantine in place. Visit the following websites: ddc.moph.go.th/viralpneumonia/eng/index.php; www.caat.or.th/en; www.tatnews.org.

    BALI

    Indonesia is currently closed for holiday visits and has a mandated quarantine in place. Visit www.kemkes.go.id/index.php?lg=LN02 OR www.indonesia.travel/gb/en/coronavirus for up-to-date information.

    ZIMBABWE

    Passengers travelling to Zimbabwe must hold a negative Covid-19 PCR clearance test certificate obtained within 48 hours prior to departure.

    KENYA

    Passengers must have a printed medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (Covid-19) PCR test result. The test must have been taken within 96 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. The medical certificate must be in English. Passengers must hold a QR code showing they have completed a Travellers Health Surveillance Form online prior to departure - ears.health.go.ke/airline_registration.

    RETURNING HOME

    Passengers travelling to South Africa are strongly advised to hold a printed medical certificate of a negative Covid-19 PCR test result obtained within 72 hours prior to departure, from the date of examination.     TRAVEL INSURANCE

    It is now more important than ever to ensure that you have adequate travel insurance. Many countries will deny you entry without adequate insurance. Please speak to your travel advisor about your options.

It is important that this booking form is completed after your reservation has been confirmed to ensure we have the correct information regarding names and titles of all passengers. If the booking form is not submitted to The Holiday Factory before final payment is made, tickets and vouchers will be issued as per our confirmation. Any changes to tickets after they have been issued will result in additional costs to the traveller.

NB - All passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of return to South Africa and must have at least two blank pages available for entry/exit stamps. Passengers travelling on foreign passports must contact the applicable consulate office for entry requirements and the SA authorities for re-entry requirements. It is the passenger's responsibility to check health and visa requirements. The Holiday Factory cannot accept responsibility for incorrect documentation.
