Jambo! This is the Swahili greeting that you will hear on arrival in Zanzibar from the warm and inviting locals. Zanzibar is a few degrees south of the equator and enjoys a very tropical climate. The average daytime high is between 28°C and 32°C and the night-time lows are between 20°C and 25°C. Temperature wise, Zanzibar is an all-year-round island holiday destination. February is very hot and very humid (just leave your hair straightener at home!) and March to May are the wettest months.

The indigenous language spoken throughout Zanzibar is Swahili (called Kiswahili locally). English is widely spoken and understood. Jambo Rafiki – Hello my friend! The local currency in Zanzibar is Tanzania Shillings (TSH) but the currency cannot be bought outside of the country. Cash (US Dollars) and credit cards are accepted at hotels and at any Bureau de Change. We strongly recommend that you take USD cash in small denominations for incidental purchases, tips etc.

Effective from 01 October 2024 all visitors to Zanzibar are required to purchase mandatory insurance at a cost of $44 per person which can only be obtained through Zanzibar Insurance Corporation via their website https://visitzanzibar.go.tz

As Zanzibar is situated in a malaria zone, it is recommended that you consult your physician on the correct preventative medication required before you travel.

Be sure to pack plenty of beach and casual wear for the day while at night you’ll want something smart casual men may need to wear long pants. When in town, men and women should have their shoulders and knees covered. Bermuda shorts and a polo shirt are perfectly fine but halter-tops and miniskirts are insulting to locals. You may also want to take an umbrella or rain poncho if you’re travelling from March to June.

This beautiful resort is located on the West Coast of the exotic island of Zanzibar. All rooms have refreshing ocean views from the bedroom and balcony and are spacious with higher standard selected elegant furnishings. Inter-leading rooms can be accommodated. The well positioned balcony, furnished with comfortable island crafted furniture ensures private outdoor views of the Indian Ocean.

Situated next to the swimming pool and overlooking the Indian Ocean offering alfresco and undercover dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Expect cuisine with local and international themes and live entertainment.

Kobe Restaurant
Situated at the Kobe swimming pool and offers casual light lunches such as wraps and pizzas. This menu is also available around both swimming pools, in the Zanzi-bar and lounges.

The Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar
A la carte restaurant located at the golf course overlooking the beach and ocean. 

Zanzi-Bar
Formal bar overlooking the Indian Ocean offering the same light meal menu as the Kobe Restaurant.

Jetty Bar
Situated at the end of the jetty offering the ideal location to enjoy exotic cocktails while watching the spectacular sunset over the Indian Ocean.

KIDS CLUB
The Kids Club is available for children aged 2 -12 years. Trained child minders supervise activities such as arts & crafts and there is a contained children’s playground with a mini climbing wall.

SPA
Zuri Rituals spa has five treatment rooms, including a couple’s massage room, sauna and steam room where visitors can find peace and tranquillity and restore their energy.  At Zuri Rituals spa, the natural botanical skin care products are handmade with love in small batches to achieve the greatest degree of particularity and freshness .The spa offers a range of treatments, including facials, manicures, pedicures, body scrubs as well as massages and a plunge pool.

GOLF
Sea Cliff is home to the only golf course on Zanzibar.
Golfers can enjoy the 9-hole Matkovitch course with its club house, under-cover driving range and practice greens which include chipping, bunker and putting greens. Zanzibar’s sandy beaches provide the 7th hole’s unique fairway bunker and the signature 9th hole is complimented by its exotic backdrop of the sea. The course has been designed with variation in distance and direction on the front and back 9 to create an experience of playing a full 18 holes. The course has a par 71, which includes short and long par 4’s and a couple of drivable options. After a round, golfers can enjoy the sunset from the Clubhouse’s veranda, situated on a private beach and soak in the views of the ocean.
