Elephant Hills Resort
Cresta Sprayview Hotel
The Kingdom at Victoria Falls
A large, but never impersonal, resort situated about
4 kilometres away from the Falls. This is one for the golfer in
your life as the resort boasts a full 18-hole course; play your
shots trying not to be distracted by the wildlife.
Rooms have views of either the Zambezi, the golf course or the
rising mist of the Victoria Falls. Extensive dining options and three
room options should cater for every taste and budget. Perfect for
young and old alike, there’s a children’s playground, swimming pool,
complimentary Wi-Fi, beauty spa and fitness centre and a shuttle
bus to the Falls every hour.
No prizes for guessing where the name comes from!
When the Falls are in full flood – usually March to July –
the clouds of spray may be seen from the hotel, which is
as up-to-date and modern as you could wish for.
But don’t think that means characterless or expensive; far from
it. Clean and comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff, it offers
service and accommodation well beyond its 3-star rating and
budget-friendly pricing. The quaint Cresta Sprayview Hotel is set
among shady, well-kept gardens with a swimming pool and is
located within walking distance of town, the Victoria Falls
Rainforest and the Falls themselves (there is also an hourly shuttle
to the Falls).
You feel as if you’ve travelled back a thousand years and
stumbled upon a lost African city but, in reality, you are at
one of Victoria Falls’ most popular family destinations.
What looks like it has been there for centuries is a thoroughly
modern hotel with every amenity you could possibly want for the
perfect family vacation. Built around a man-made water feature,
The Kingdom offers a variety of accommodation and dining to suit
any age or size of party. Elephant Hills golf course is 5 kilometres
away but maybe you’ll content yourself with beating the odds at the
casino or melting away the stresses of modern life at the pool bar.
A river-fronted lodge in the region, A’Zambezi River Lodge’s
rooms face either the river or the National Park so whichever
you choose, you’ll be getting the best of Africa.
There’s a distinct vibe to this lodge, perfect for an all-day relaxation
session or for offering a tranquil haven after a day of testing your
nerves with some of the more exciting activities on offer.
The expanse of lawns often attract Sebastian, the resident hippo,
much to the amusement of the guests, whilst the riverside bar is
the perfect spot for a sundowner…or two! About a 5 minute drive to
the Falls, there is a courtesy shuttle five times a day.
